About Chapel Trail Nature Preserve in Pembroke Pines FL

As a community, Chapel Trail consists of 17 other smaller communities or sub-associations that range in size, typically from 83 to 500 units. This community is in the western part of Pembroke Pines and contains a total of 3, 676 units. The construction of the first homes occurred in the late 1980s and others were completed in the late 1990s. Various beautiful residences make up the area’s development and they vary in size and configuration, from 1, 200 sq. ft. to nearly 4, 000 sq. ft.

This city lies within Southern Broward County, approximately 15 miles (24 km) from downtown Ft. Lauderdale. It is so close that you can easily drive over and have a taste of the nightlife and action while keeping out everyday hassle and tussle. Chapel Trail is a convenient place for all the popular major highways providing a hassle-free commute and you can reach the beaches in just about 30 minutes. Some of Broward County’s most sought after neighborhoods can be found in Pembroke Pines and nearby cities include Fort Lauderdale and Miami, which offer fantastic shopping and great nightlife scenes. Sawgrass Mills is among the largest malls in the U.S. and white, beautiful beaches lie about 30 minutes away.

The population of Pembroke Pines was about 173, 600 as of 2019, which represents a population increase from 154, 750, according to the 2010 census, which makes it the second-most populous city in the County of Broward after Fort Lauderdale. With over 100acres of properly landscaped green space stretching throughout the community, Chapel Trail is a beautiful place. The Chapel Trail Nature Reserve, which covers about 450 acres of federally-protected wetlands area, lies north of the community. This part was reserved as part of the entire development. Pembroke Pines City is charged with managing the 450-acre park set up in the 1990s. This nature preserve also has a 1, 650-foot long boardwalk as well as a pavilion to enable visitors to observe nature. The wetlands are now home to 120 bird species, marsh rabbits, alligators, snakes, largemouth bass, insects, and turtles. City and county facilities like Chapel Trail Park, Silver Trail Middle School, West Broward High School, Chapel Trail Elementary, and Rose Price Park, are all adjacent to the community.

The park was named in honor of Mrs. Rose G. Price who was a commissioner between 1979 and 1990. Various activities take place in this place and there are also classes for people of all ages. The park may only be 10 acres but includes swimming pools, a lighted baseball/softball field, paddleball courts, lighted basketball courts, a shaded playground, a walking/jogging path, and a party/event hall for renting. There are also restrooms to help yourself when you need to. The “miracle baseball diamond” is also available for handicapped kids to play baseball and enjoy themselves on a special padded field.

This public school is for children from grades 9 to 12 and became operational in August 2008. The school feeds mainly from Silver Trail Middle, with some from Glades Middle and Falcon Cove Middle. Some of the courses that the school offers include web design services, veterinary assisting, early childhood education, hospitality, technology studies, woodshop class, marketing and management, and finance.

This public school is for grades 6 to 8 and with 1, 693 students per teacher enrolled in the school. As a public school, it should be regarded as the model for the rest of the schools. With caring teachers, supportive parents, and an excellent principal, students have all they need to achieve academic excellence and become successful in life as productive members of society.

Therefore, the Chapel Hill Nature Preserve has a lot to offer besides bird watching and sightseeing. You’ll also get to see other animals like alligators, snakes, insects, largemouth bass, turtles, and marsh rabbits. You’ll get to see more than 100 species of birds when you visit the nature preserve. This wonderful accessible park will allow you to see birds and wildlife you would ordinarily find in the wild.
